Paintings
Ian Homerston15.3–10.5.2025

For this exhibition, Ian Homerston presents paintings that explore the dynamic between image and surface. The paintings are based on photographs of things observed or encountered during the course of daily life, identified variously for their formal, sculptural, or symbolic qualities. The interplay between scale and size emerges as a leitmotif, threading through the works and reinforcing their meditative, exploratory nature. Through a process of revising and remaking, the works cultivate a kind of stubborn introspection that is both intimate in detail and expansive in scope.
